Wonderful spring day - therefore out of the city in the direction of Grevenbroich. It went on a flat route from Liedberg via Aldenhausen back to Liedberg. On the way you pass the Nikolauskloster with a great garden and war graves. A highlight is the Marian grotto with the statue from the pilgrimage site of Lourdes. Light the candle and then go on. Dyck Castle, with its own fruit growing, invites you to visit (there is an entrance fee). Long stretches through fields on the way back. In Liedberg you will find beautiful half-timbered houses and a small castle. Nice rural area with little highlights. 🏰

Beautiful round from Bensberg through the Grube Cox nature reserve, along the Strunde through floodplain forest, over fields with a view of Cologne, relaxing resting places by the water ... and at the end of the round through the park to Bensberg Castle. From there, the view leads directly to Cologne Cathedral. Very nice.
The altitude difference is 390 m, Komoot's statement is incorrect.

Wonderful day at the gates of Cologne. Started at the train station in Liblar, it was about Lake Liblar. Then the Luxemburger Straße was crossed and unfortunately hiked 2.5km parallel in the forest next to a garbage dump. But once you have left that behind, you will find relaxing kilometers around the Bleibtreusee to the Heider Bergsee. The path continues to the pheasant pond. You can take a break there. You are alone and have your peace of mind. Small, impassable paths lead around the pond with two great footbridges that invite you to linger. The final spurt follows in the Ville chain of lakes with the Lower, Middle and Upper Lakes. Pure love of nature! 🌳 It is hard to believe that such a beautiful natural area with many lakes can be found not far from the city of Cologne.
Definitely recommended if you are looking for a break but don't want to drive that far. ☀️🙂

Today on the go with the grown-up kids - circumnavigating the Meerhofsee, along the Kahl to the mouth at the lowest point in Bavaria (107 meters above sea level), the Kahler Seenplatte 🤿 with Meerhofsee, Kahler See, Großkrotzenburger See, Weihertannensee and Schloßsee and through the castle park to Emmerichshofen Castle 🏰. Along the disused state road 2305 between Emmerichshofen and Alzenau. Up to here a varied, super beautiful hike 😍. Then, unfortunately, Komoot did not suggest a good route to the end of the tour. It would have been better not to cross the main road, but to continue on the disused state road in the direction of Alzenauer Straße and use the underpass of the motorway at the Alzenau Mitte exit.
In addition, the height information from Komoot is completely wrong. Therefore disregard altitude.
Nevertheless, with these spring temperatures and glorious sunshine ☀️☀️ it was a pleasure hike.

From Königswinter it goes to the Siebengebirge. This low mountain range lies on the right bank of the Rhine, southeast of the cities of Königswinter and Bad Honnef, and consists of more than 50 mountains and hills. The path leads over the Drachenfels to the Drachenfels castle ruins, the striking location high above the Rhine Valley offers wonderful views. With frosty temperatures around 0 degrees, the landscape is wrapped in magical white and the views over the mountains are magnificent. The excursion destination Drachenfels attracts many hikers, even today on Sunday there are a lot of people here. Tip: visit on a working day. How will it be in summer when the temperatures are warm?
Halfway to the Drachenfels lies the Nibelungenhalle, this is where, according to legend, Siegfried is said to have defeated the dragon and immortalized in his blood through the bath🐉..🧐
I strongly doubt the altitude of the tour in Komoot, according to my sports watch it was 360 meters, which seems realistic to me. I have had my doubts several times about the altitude and time information in Komoot. They are not always correct.
