Good route for beginners and children; but not traffic-free. The tricky bit with children is the 50m (approx) of the B3092 which has fast traffic and no walkway, but doing the route in the opposite direction (with this section downhill) might work better. Also crosses the bypass.

This route is mostly very quiet lanes, with some lovely woods on the Longleat estate. It follows the NCN Route 24 towards the end, so easy to find the route. There are some roads with traffic, such as the road through Trudoxhill and Bunns Lane, so children would need some traffic awareness. The lane
