About Tim

The New Year's tour went into the countryside, more cross-country and almost without exception on unpaved roads. I love that, even if it is sometimes tedious to drive. The loneliness and nature make up for everything. Preferably ride a mountain bike - at least in winter, when the paths are rather muddy.I have to clean my bike first :-))

So, that was the last tour for the year 2021. It was still a lot of fun after a foggy start after the sun came out.

In between, get out of the house to work off a few calories.

Actually, the tour should run in the opposite direction. So first the ferry crossing, which initially could not take place due to the fog. Then along the Murgtal cycle path to Gernsbach. Past the Geroldsau waterfall and the Yburg towards Sinzheim. Then back. That was the plan - which was obsolete after only 2 kilometers. ALSO the whole thing the other way around. Anyway, it was nice in any case.

Today out of bed and across the field through the area. Then back home shortly before the rain. It was nice. Even if the paths were a bit softened at times. Sometimes I wonder why I don't actually have a MTB. :-)))One more brief addition. The oil production does not take place in Dallas / Texas. :-))Just like in the south of the Palatinate around Landau, there are also some places in Alsace where crude oil is extracted.

Why shouldn't one even combine the pleasant with the pleasant. A nice bike ride for the granddaughter's children's birthday party. It couldn't be any better. The weather was fine too, so everything was fine. An all-round successful day.

I wanted to do a tour to Fort Louis today. The approach turned out to be not that easy as several routes were closed. Then we went back via Eurovelo 15

Today's tour is much shorter than expected. The reason for this was once again the flood, which flooded the bike paths along the Rhine in some places. The water height was sometimes over 10 cm. It was good to slow down so as not to flood the eBike motor. But no matter - after all, it was about the movement outside. It was always nice.

This morning out of bed again early and off to the bike. After the continuous rain of the last few days you have to take advantage of the constant, beautiful weather. Actually, I wanted to take the ferry to Plittersdorf here in Seltz. Unfortunately, it wasn't running yet. So over the bridge in Beinheim. Then via Iffezheim to Baden-Baden up to the Merkur - Baden-Baden's local mountain. It was great on Saturday morning. Then back to the Rhine plain to Greffern on the ferry to Drusenheim (F). From then on we went back home.Have fun looking at pictures or following them.
