Our aim, to summit Tryfan via the south face, having been thwarted at the gully below the north buttress 3 years ago. We started by climbing up past Tryfan Bach continuing up the Cym on the west side and joining the main path half way up. Having reached the bottom of the south ridge we headed upwards

Gorgeous walk with lots of interest - Lacy Caves, Force Mill Weir, Long Meg standing stone circle. But.... the footpath along the river bank to Lacy Caves and the weir is officially closed until 23rd July, 2025. We got through but it was a bit of a muddy mess in places. Silva Treehouse thoroughly recommended as accommodation!

Really a road walk loop, but the detour to Clifden Castle was well worth it!
