    2nd Breakfast in Gloucester

Aim was for a steady zone 2 ride. Went a little to hard in the 1st half to Gloucester mainly due to the hills. Steadier on the 2nd half but was knackered by the Severn Bridge and the slog home from there was a struggle. Need to build up my longer rides.

Backtracked on part of our route from yesterday to head north towards the RSPB reserve at Arne. Gravel paths are off limits to bikes up there sadly but there's a lovely beach! Headed south back over the sandy heaths to Studland for a swim on the packed beach. Nice waves! Queue for ice cream was ridiculous so carried on back to Swanage for Rum n Raisin on the seafront before returning to the coast at Langton Maltravers via the Priests Way. We had checked out the Tom's Field campsite and its highly recommended. Great facilities and only £10. Looking forward to their cooked brekkie!

Visited here for Brother in the Wild event with the Bristol Grit gang back in '22 and was glad to get the opportunity to come back with Pete. This time a little more gentle random meandering bikepacking with a few beers at the locely Square and Compass and my first wild camp at the end of the first day! Lush!

A great mix of canal towpath, gravel forest roads and the Brinore Tramway which is mostly single track in its higher section. I haven't ridden that section yet but there is evidence of it being done on a gravel bike without too many issues. Will comment again when I get round to riding this part!
