    Leveringhäuser Vogeltich / NSG Leveringhäuser pond (Waltrop-Leveringhausen)

    The eponymous Leveringhäuser bird pond is located in the NSG Leveringhäuser pond, the farming community Leveringhausen belongs to the city of Waltrop. The body of water was created by subsidence in the 1980s. By and by arose now about 5 acres of water, it settled Röhricht and numerous other plant species and a number of insect and animal species. Species of birds and dragonflies have found a habitat here. Previously, the now lowered and lying below the groundwater level surfaces were used for agriculture. Since 1989, the lake and its surroundings have been designated as a nature reserve of about 10 hectares.
    Nearby is also the Bruno Lake (komoot.de/highlight/97350)
