Until 1918 the border between Austria-Hungary and the German Empire ran here.

Families broke up, destroyed livelihoods in the border region brought unspeakable suffering to the people who lived here. A border with barbed wire, mines and death strips emerged.
In 1989 this border fell in a peaceful revolution, but the thoughts of expulsion and the degradation of man by man will remain. Today this place is a place of peace and contemplation, but also a "Green Belt", characterized by idyll and tranquillity.

A refreshment stop in Oberprex not far from the border triangle. This is where the traditional Gasthaus zur Linde in Oberprex is located. Along the eastern hiking trail you can enjoy a home-made snack on a detour in the cozy rural inn.
