A lighthouse coexisted in the south of the town between its construction in 1897 and its disaffection in 1912. Previously, a tidal light, accompanied by a fog bell, was installed in 1856. Since 1912, the tower served as bitter. A bitter is a fixed and unambiguously identifiable landmark used for marine navigation. Both lighthouses were destroyed by explosives in 1944 by the Germans. After the Second World War, in 1946 and 1947, a new bitter was erected near the location of the South lighthouse, placed on a German blockhouse. Its shape is reminiscent of the tower of the lighthouse. It consists of erect concrete beams, arranged in a circle and wearing a cross of St. Andrew (in "X").
