The wetland is located directly next to a wide hiking trail, which offers a good view of the biotope. Therefore, it's not necessary to enter this protected refuge. Additionally, there are many information boards along the trail that explicitly point this out.
It's intended for amphibians, reptiles, and plants.
Not for fish, and certainly not for goldfish brought along. The latter feel more comfortable in an aquarium.

Between the "Frauenholz" wood at Weilimdorf's New Cemetery and Solitude Palace lies the "Sandkopf," a leveled area that the people of Weilimdorf have used for many purposes since around 1850. Initially, siliceous sandstone was extracted from small sand pits. A misguided bombing raid during World War II severely damaged the forest area at this location.
In 1949, Daimler-Benz leased this area from the forestry administration as a test track for off-road trucks; the circuit can still be seen today. The test runs were abandoned in 1975 in favor of nature, and what remains is the name: "Daimlerplatz."

Former gravel pit, then truck test track, bombed during the war and now a natural biotope. Very interesting and worth seeing!
