In Grado, as the only Adriatic city, all the beaches face south, so the beaches enjoy sun all day long. The three beaches, the main beach (Spiaggia Principale), the beach Costa Azzurra and the beach of Pineta, are connected by a promenade. Grado has been a Blue Flag carrier since 2000. This stands for very high standard of cleanliness of the sea water, the beach and the surrounding nature. The Blue Flag was awarded to all three beaches.
