In the place of the "rotunda", this monument is one of the many places of remembrance of the Second World War on the territory. Here the courage and commitment of the 12th Motorized Infantry Division is highlighted. The division, which was responsible for defending the eastern part of Dunkirk's bridgehead and thus for embarking the Allies to England, lost many men. This sacrifice, which saved thousands of soldiers, deserved a monument to its size. The monument of the 12th DIM was inaugurated on June 25, 1950, on the beach of Bray-Dunes, so that the dedication of these men will never be forgotten.
