The municipality of Büchen, with its approximately 5,800 inhabitants, is located in the southernmost district of Schleswig-Holstein, in the beautiful Duchy of Lauenburg. While its location on the Elbe-Lübeck Canal is a delight, Büchen also boasts a family-friendly infrastructure.
Historical photos from the fifteen municipalities in the Büchen district are exhibited on all floors of the Büchen community center. These are currently being gradually replaced to give citizens new insights into the history of the municipalities during their visits to the administration. The photos of the Büchen and Schulendorf municipalities have already been replaced.

If you've never done a bike ride in Büchen and on the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, you've missed something. Without gradients, you can cycle for miles and relax and set the pace yourself. The landscape around Büchen tempts to one or the other detour, because even away from the canal there is idyll in abundance.
