The Roßkopf is located in the Hochtaunuskreis on the border between Wehrheim and Bad Homburg. On the long summit ridge, which exceeds the measured point by a few meters, there is a smaller telecommunications system, otherwise the summit is dense coniferous den.Es is the only major elevation (dominance 1620 m, prominence 37 m) in the long Taunus Creek between the road crossings at Sandplacken and at the Saalburg. To the Roßkopf are still the northeastern ranked ridge Kieshübel (632.8 m), Hollerkopf (615.5 m) and white stone (550.7 m) and the southwest neighboring Waldkuppe Einsiedler (606.6 m) expected. In the southeast of the Roßkopf forms a large, steeply sloping shoulder, the Herzberg (591.4 m) with lookout tower and inn. In the eastern flank of the Herzberg higher rocky ribs come to light on the charming marble stone. Over the ridge ran the Roman border wall Limes. So here are u. a. Found foundations of a watchtower. Along the ridge continue the European long-distance trail E1 and the Limeswanderweg. Half a kilometer south-west rises in a striking valley on Habigsborn with the Heuchelbach a spring stream of the Eschbach, a tributary of the Nidda. At the foot of the broad north flank of the Roßkopf lies the open-air museum Hessenpark.
