The Saxer First is very easy to reach from the Mutschensattel via the Roslenfirst. A somewhat inconspicuous trail leads up to the Steinmannli from the Roslenfirst and then you can walk over the broad ridge to the Saxer First with the cairn, cross and summit book.
From the Saxer Lücke there is a direct path up to the Saxer First. This path is a little steep at first.
On a beautiful, crowded Alpstein weekend, it is wonderfully quiet up here. You only share the broad ridge on the Roslen/Saxer-First with countless sheep. The meadow is therefore a little dirty. But the peace and the fantastic view from up there is simply beautiful!!!
The view stretches infinitely far in all directions...even over the Alpstein itself you have a wonderful view over the middle section to the Altenalp towers, Schäfler etc...in close proximity you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Kreuzberge, the view into the Reinthal, the Sämtisersee and Hohen Kasten, Altmann, Säntis, Fählentürme, Hundstein, Marwees etc etc etc......
