Field sergeant Christian Küpper had recently pointed out at a local meeting with representatives of the city of Mechernich, that the Schavener Heide is closed to unauthorized persons on weekdays between 7 and 17 clock, so the city Mechernich in her message. This applies to walkers, cyclists and recreation seekers. The Oberstabsfeldwebel had made it clear: "When the red flag blows on the driveways to the Schavener Heide, then there is no barring."
