This is the starting point of the Vecht, and that's why the beautiful Vechtetal route begins here, taking you 223 kilometers to the mouth of the river to Zwolle in the Netherlands.

Small note to the panel of the home club: The Vechte flows at Zwolle in the Zwarte Water and this in turn into the IJsselmeer. The Zuiderzee was renamed in 1932 in Ijsselmeer.

The Vechtequelle is only about 600 meters away from the old Darfeld train station. This is where the Vechtetalroute starts, a 223 km long river cycle path that ends in Zwolle in the Netherlands. Here the Vechte flows into the Zwarte Water. You can find out more about this cross-border bike path, which I can only recommend, here:
