The Hungerburgbahn is the architectural masterpiece by Zaha Hadid and impresses with four futuristic stations. It runs underground, above ground and through tunnels and is an important link up to the Top of Innsbruck. To continue to Hafelekar, take the Nordkettenbahn. From up here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the outdoor capital of the Alps and the Karwendel Mountains.

And this is your ride on the Hungerburgbahn: The valley station is not far from the Golden Roof. The way up is adventurous and entertaining: out of the city center, over the Inn and then steeply up, past the Alpenzoo to the terminus at Hermann Buhl Platz. There is a lot to see and after the new construction of the railway, new sights of the city have been created - from the stylish stations to the viewing terrace.

...take the ace train up to the top stations (Hungerburg etc) from Congress, and enjoy the road/gravel descent back into Innsbruck :)
