Aubel is known for its regional products: Herve cheese, syrup, cider and beer. These are traded in the markets on Tuesday and Sunday mornings.[1] In the past, the Aubel market was very well known. Farmers came from far and wide to Aubel to sell their products. Even from the Sittard area (about 35 km) farmers visited the Aubel market. The cheese from Aubel, the Aubeloise, is particularly well known among enthusiasts. It is a cheese that has a sharp and spicy taste and also smells like it. The cheese is protected as Herve cheese (from the Land of Herve) by means of the European qualification: protected designation of origin.

"Its bell tower proudly stands at over 64 m and is visible from all around. The Gothic parish church of Aubel, completed in 1910, is the work of Emile Deshayes from Charneux; it impresses the visitor with its elegance and imposing appearance.

The stained glass windows by master glassmaker Camille Ganton-Defoin illuminate the interior with their iridescent colours. The seven large glass walls surrounding the large choir symbolize the canons of the rosary. The stained glass windows of the transept depict Saint Hubert, patron saint of the parish, together with the deer carrying the cross. You can also find him in the nave: a statue made by Francis Jacobs of Hermée. The organ builder Nagels-Nijs from Kozen created the choir organ in 1991.

The old cemetery used to surround the church. It has not been used since 1925; it contains magnificent tombstones from the 16th to the 20th centuries, which you can admire along the path that meanders through the tree-planted cemetery park."
