Lichtenhain waterfall:
The originally natural small waterfall of the Lichtenhainer Dorfbach in a gorge-like notch between sandstone cliffs above the Kirnitzschtal was raised slightly in 1830 to increase its tourist attractiveness via a short slope canal and, on the other hand, staged by a retractable weir with a surge-like runoff. A Lichtenhain citizen was given the leasable office of "waterfall puller". He had a bar and opened the dam for tourists for a few minutes in exchange for money. The half-timbered restaurant building dates from 1852.

Kirnitzschtalbahn:
For more than 120 years the Kirnitzschtal
bahn hikers to the starting points of their tours
through the rear Saxon Switzerland. she is
the only tram in the world that runs in a
National Park enters. The Kirnitzschtalbahn
runs every half hour in summer and every half hour in winter

The waterfall is currently in operation in summer 2022. However, it is no longer open at certain times but flows constantly. Definitely worth coming here. Also the perfect starting point for a short hike to the cowshed. Both should not be missed if you are in the vicinity.
