The Karwendelhaus is a serviced Alpine Club hut belonging to the Munich Men's Gymnastics Club section of the German Alpine Club at an altitude of 1,771 m above sea level[1] (according to other sources 1,765 m above sea level)[2] not far from the Hochalmsattel saddle with a view of the Karwendel Valley below. Built in 1908, the refuge is located in the heart of the Karwendel Mountains in Tyrol, about 1.2 km from the Bavarian border.[3]
