Just above the Karwendelhaus you finally reach the highest point of the forest road and can enjoy the wonderful view both west and east. Depending on the planned route, it goes from here down into the Karwendeltal on well-maintained forest path or east to the small maple back on pretty coarse gravel path. Even if you have planned a long tour and perhaps should not dawdle, this place invites you to stop for a while and enjoy the beauty.

Highlight Weekend: With the bike from Scharnitz to the Hochalmsattel, there to enjoy the sunset and then spend the night in the Karwendelhaus and experience cottage magic. The next day a mountain hike to one of the many Karwendel peaks that can be reached from there and then back to Scharnitz by bike in the evening. Perfect you can not use a weekend :-))
