Beer has been brewed again in Bad Belzig since 2007 – at Burgbräuhaus Bad Belzig! Three varieties are constantly offered: Burgbräu Hell, Burgbräu Spezial, and Burgbräu Dunkel, along with other seasonal specialties such as the exclusive Champagne Rye Beer. Since 2012, the unique single malt cask whisky "Old Sandhill" has been hand-distilled in the district town of Bad Belzig. The name derives from the former Sandberg district, where the brewery and distillery are located. The whisky must be aged in oak barrels for at least five years before it can be served.

On the occasion of a brewery, I cannot resist – purely from a literary perspective – and must briefly quote the humorist Heinz Erhardt (1909–1979), whom I highly respect and who was widely known for his wordplay and "Another Poem," with one of his – very rare – tongue twisters:
