The Kazan Cathedral was built according to the design of a serf architect in 1811 on the site of a wooden Kazan Church that had existed here since 1703. The main altar was consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the side altars were dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Dmitry of Rostov. Today, the cathedral has appeared before people in a renewed form as a result of a long and painstaking restoration. It is one of the remarkable cathedrals of the Voronezh Region from the period of classicism. The venerated cathedral icon is the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, located in a shrine to the right of the main iconostasis.
