Met a local here at the lime kiln. He said that the idea was to make an industrial monument. The expert's fee was 20,000 euros and the refurbishment would then cost 350,000 euros. They kept their distance when it came to the sum and now the lime kiln with its chimney is slowly but surely decaying.

The former lime kiln was built in 1927 and was in operation until it was shut down in 1941. The idea of turning it into an industrial monument was rejected by the responsible municipalities due to the immense renovation costs. So the stove continues to slowly decay in the forest.
