On a hike 🥾 from Bodenstein to the grotto / hunting lodge, you pass many beautiful rock cliffs 🪨 in the forest 🌳. They can be admired in different sizes 😊. Very beautiful forest paths, some of them narrow and overgrown, lead to the cliffs!

The Bodensteiner cliffs extend for a length of about four kilometers between Bodenstein and the Jägerhaus am Hainberg.
They are built from the Hilsandstein of the Lower Cretaceous. This sandstone is mostly placed in the so-called sub-aptium and is around 110 million years old today.
It is advisable to wear good shoes.
