The plans for the church building came from Conrad Wilhelm Hase. The Neo-Gothic brick basilica was executed on a triangular plot between 1880 and 1884 by Karl Börgemann. The three-aisle building has a cruciform, arched structure and a wide transept. The towering church tower located in the west has a brick top, which was later given a copper cover. The tower can be seen well from the surrounding streets, which makes the church an urban landmark of great orientation. The brick building is very puristic and has no glazes or plaster and only a few shaped stones. His appearance is thus in line with Hase's pursuit of architectural truth, in which form, construction and material have to match. The rectory and surrounding houses, which were built until 1890, have the same style elements and materials as the church. The buildings thus form a closed ensemble. (Wikip.)
