The Whale (Bálna) lies next to the Danube, between two brick halls shining on the bank, a very chic architectural highlight.
Bálna is a cultural, gastronomic and commercial center, right on the banks of the Danube in Pest. The Dutch architect Kas Oosterhuis and the architectural firm Ilona Lénárd drew up the plans for a new building that connects two of the four warehouse buildings with an atrium and at the same time extends them with a glass shell parallel to the Danube bank in the shape of a whale. It opened in 2013.
