Good vantage point for the hike and pictures, plan your hike in afternoon or evening, this place looks magical in golden sunsetset light and in some season if you come at night, you can see fireflies.

THE well-known spot in Saxon Switzerland: the Bastei. Very nice, but totally overcrowded as many tourists are transported right to the door. Therefore visit at off-peak hours.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why x-fold duplicates are being created here again? As if there wasn't already a komoot highlight like this...

not only the Bastei is beautiful, the nature around it is also impressive. Tip, go at the beginning or end of the day, then it is much quieter. We visited the bastei in the evening from the parking lot and then back via the Amselsee and Schwedenschlucht. Very nice, the first part to the bastei is easily passable, then a lot of climbing by means of stairs through the gorges. Very quiet piece.

Probably the most famous spot in Saxon Switzerland: the Bastei. Very nice, but totally overcrowded, since many tourists are transported to the front of the tour. Therefore visit at the off-peak hours.

Wehlen is a so-called country town in Saxon Switzerland.
