You can always see the famous water games, which are well worth seeing
from May 1st to October 3rd
on Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2:30 p.m.
Another magical highlight are the illuminated water features
(Saturdays, best to google dates)

The watercourse can only be followed on foot. Almost 200 meters in altitude have to be overcome over 2.3 kilometers

The water features have been working according to the same principle for over 300 years. Only by exploiting the laws of physics and without the use of pumps do the masses of water flow from the foot of Hercules to the castle pond. The elemental power of the water is masterfully expressed through a planned staging. The Landgraves of Hesse Kassel underlined their absolutist claims to power with this spectacle.
The starting point of the water features is at the foot of the octagon on which Hercules sits enthroned. Two water staircases enclose the grotto complex in a horseshoe shape. This is where the water art begins with the fountains in the artichoke basin and the curved cascades.
One level down you reach the giant's head basin. The stone head of the giant Encelados spits a twelve-meter-high fountain of water at his conqueror Hercules.
There are figures in the niches on the left and right. On the left is a "faun" and on the right a "centaur". With their horns they give the signal for the start of the water arts. Like the fountains, the sound of the horns is also created by natural water pressure. The signal can be heard far down in the park.
