You can only give something historical to the castle. This works best on a portal and I have decided for the kassel.de/kultur/sehenswuerdigkeiten/Bergpark/01927/index.html. Schloss Wilhelmshöhe was under Landgrave Wilhelm IX. Built in 1786 in several stages. Previously, an Augustinian monastery and later a hunting lodge had already stood in the same place.
Especially the middle part of the castle was completely destroyed during World War II. Between 1968 and 1974, the building was rebuilt and redesigned for a museum use.
Today, the Schloss Wilhelmshöhe accommodates an antique collection, the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, the Graphische Sammlung and a library. In addition, the museum offers space for special exhibitions.
Castle rooms in the narrower sense can be visited in the Weißenstein wing.

Schloss Wilhelmshöhe is located in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel. The castle was designed from 1786 to 1798 in the style of classicism and was designed for Landgrave Wilhelm IX. (from 1803 Elector Wilhelm I) built.

On 23 June 2013, the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe was recognized with the castle as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since June 23, 2013 and is one of the top 100 sights in Germany. The multitude of other highlights shows how much there is to discover. As a first-time visitor, you should get an overview beforehand, e.g. at "de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bergpark_Wilhelmshöhe" - it's worth it.

The ascent from the castle to Hercules (and back) is more than a walk. Good footwear is recommended.
