The Fontana d'Ara Coeli is a fountain in Rome that was built in 1589 by Giacomo Della Porta, commissioned by Pope Sisto V. The fountain has an oval shape with four masks that spew water. In the center is a baluster with a bowl on which four putti with jars stand. The baluster is decorated with the coats of arms of the Roman people and the Chigi family. The fountain stands in a square at the foot of the Capitoline Hill, near the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli.
