This is the main fire station of the professional fire department of the state capital Kiel.
The Kiel Fire Department was founded in 1896 and currently operates three fire stations, including the new north station in Holtenau. It maintains several fire engines with modern emergency vehicles and also serves the city through nine rescue stations with a total of 14 ambulances, three emergency rescue vehicles, and specialty vehicles such as a baby emergency rescue vehicle. It responds to tens of thousands of calls annually – from firefighting to intensive care transport.
