The trail was completely iced over. In front of us a woman slipped on the ice and sank up to her shoulders in the water / moor. Her husband could pull her onto the boardwalk. Dangerous for life on black ice!

The bridge was formerly made of oak planks, but these have since rotted away, and a new 200-meter-long bridge was built over the southern moorland at Tröndelsee.

It is made of WPC (Wood Plastic Composite).

The plastic content in WPC is mostly based on fossil raw materials, making it difficult to fully recycle, and poses the risk of microplastic release when worn, especially near waterways.
