In the Middle Ages Manslagt belonged to the provost Groothusen in the diocese of Münster. In 1500, two priests provided for the community. In the course of the Reformation, the community turned to the Reformed confession. The late Gothic hall church was built around the year 1400. It may have been built as a replacement for an older predecessor church, whereupon furnishings from the 12th and 13th century indicate (Wikipedia).
