The windmill, a three-story gallery mill with a Gulf barn, was built as the third mill on the same site in 1842/1843.
The museum shows a complete illustration of the milling industry. The mill museum also deals with the history of East Frisian rural life in general. Another focus of the exhibition is on the craftsmanship of the previous century.
The adjoining Gulf house has been redesigned for cultural purposes and creative work. At irregular intervals, the Krummhörn local history association makes this space available for cultural events.
