    At the foot of the rugged, 3,000-meter-high Fanes peaks lies Lake Lagazuoi. This small, protected lake lies at approximately 2,180 meters above sea level in the protected area of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park and is traversed by the Dolomites High Trail No. 1.

      This alpine lake is just a few meters from the trail and is truly enchanting. It is located under the walls of Piza dl Lech and Cima Scotoni. Really lovely!

              Ideally located, in front of a breathtaking mountain backdrop, the lake invites you to linger, rest / snack and of course to cool off. Although it is under protection of a natural monument - you always saw people using the cool water to cool off.....

                The lake is about 50 meters next to the path. Many pass without stopping. From my point of view a mistake, because the lake is idyllically embedded and invites you to linger. The small fish are easy to catch (and release) with bread. For the children this is a nice experience.

                          This beautiful lake is located in a very panoramic position halfway along path 20 which leads from Rifugio Lagazuoi to Rifugio Scotoni, or downhill from the Lech pass.
                          The pond is not very large and there are some benches to take a break or relax a bit.
