              😎The Kalte Bode rises in the "Bodesprung" in the Upper Harz national park area, approx. three kilometers southwest of the Brocken summit. The source is located at around 880 meters above sea level southwest of the Königsberg and only 300 meters south of the Eckersprung. The Bodesprung is located directly on the hiking trail between the triangular pile and the Goetheweg.
              On its course south of the Brocken massif, countless nameless small streams flow into the Kalte Bode. Before reaching the well-known resort of Schierke, the Sandbeek and the Schwarze Schluftwasser are the most important of these tributaries. The “brown water” flows into the Kalte Bode in the central location of Schierke.
              Beyond Schierke, the wild mountain stream flows through the picturesque Misery Valley, which is cut deep into the mountains. After passing through this particularly beautiful section of the river, the Kalte Bode reaches the town of Elend.
