One of the largest Munich squares and centrally located in the Au. The Auer Dult has been held around the Neo-Gothic Mariahilfkirche three times a year since 1905. It is a very special mixture of the fair, the grocery store and the antiques and flea market. In particular, a lot of dishes and ceramics. There is something for every taste, which makes it so popular.

Mariahilfplatz in der Au was named after the Maria-Hilf Church in 1857, previously it was called Rasenplatz. The square has been shaped over the centuries by four sacred buildings. First there was the Holy Cross Chapel, which was built in 1466 on the spot where the Isar floods had washed up a field cross a few years earlier. The monastery church of St. Karl Borromeo was consecrated in 1625 - today it houses the Munich District Office. The Mariahilf Chapel dates from 1629 and was demolished in 1840 after the new church was built. And finally the Maria-Hilf-Kirche, which dominates today, was built in 1831-1839.
