The Chinese Tower in the English Garden is a historic pagoda-style wooden structure, first erected in 1790 and now one of the park's most famous landmarks. It is surrounded by Munich's second-largest beer garden, which seats several thousand guests and is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike. Bavarian specialties and beer are served in a traditional atmosphere, often accompanied by brass music from the tower. The Chinese Tower combines Munich's beer garden culture with historic garden architecture and represents convivial relaxation amidst greenery.

In the middle of the English Garden, a 25-meter-high tower rises from the treetops. It is reminiscent of a Chinese temple, but all around it is a Bavarian way of life: a brass band plays marching music, Munich residents and tourists clink their beer mugs in the beer garden and enjoy their roast chicken. With 7,000 seats, the beer garden at the Chinese Tower is the second largest beer garden in Munich, right after the Hirschgarten. Tourists from all over the world come here to drink Munich's Hofbräu beer. But the Chinese Tower is also a popular meeting place for Munich residents to enjoy the summer evenings with brass music. As is beer garden tradition, you can bring your own snacks here. You only have to buy the drinks at the inn.
