Castle is no longer open to the public. There is a drinking place at the back. Located on the Rivierenhof which is also a beautiful park to walk in. The first weekend of June there is a medieval event. An entire medieval tent camp is erected with craftsmen, squires, knights...
The largest event in the Benelux. Entrance has remained free to date.

The Sterckshof castle is in Deurne, Antwerp, Belgium. It houses the Sterckshof silver museum of the Province of Antwerp. Built on the site of a much older castle, or great house, the present building is a reconstruction erected in the 1920s.

At Sterckshof Castle you come to a place with a very old history. There was a farm here surrounded by a moat as early as the 13th century. What you see today is a castle that was rebuilt in the 1930s by the province of Antwerp. Some parts of this neo-Renaissance style building date from the 16th century.

The Silver Museum housed here until 2014. The collection was integrated into the new museum DIVA, Antwerp Home of Diamonds (well worth a visit!). Today, a definitive design is being sought for the Sterckshof itself. But life does matter here. Lovers of good coffee, delicious cake and tons of fun will easily find their way to Bar Stark.

Oh yes, the Sterckshof owes its name to one of its former owners, the 16th century Antwerp merchant Geraard Sterck.

Sterckshof... is no longer a museum! (But the DIVA even more so)

Gerard Sterck was apparently not happy with a silver museum in 'his' castle. Well, his words turned out to be prophetic.

The history of the Sterckshof began in the 13th century when the castle consisted of a farm surrounded by a moat. After several centuries of ownership changes, renovations and destruction, this castle, or what remained of it, came into the hands of the Province of Antwerp. They rebuilt it in the 1930s in neo-Renaissance style.

First, the Sterckshof was a museum for arts and crafts, until Jonkheer Pierre Lunden donated no fewer than 96 pieces of silver to the museum in 1976. This donation of works of art from the 16th century to the present day formed the basis of the extensive silver collection exhibited here. Since May 2018, this collection, together with the diamond collection, can be admired in the DIVA

The Sterckshof currently houses artists' studios and the cozy Bar Stark.
