The bronze statue "Holger Danske" is an impressive monument.

The bronze figure Holger Dansk was made in 1907 on behalf of the hotel owner Anders Jensen to the sculptor Hans Pedersen-Dan.

First, the sculptor cast a plaster figure, which then formed the basis of a mold for the statue itself. The finished bronze statue by Holger Danske placed the hotel owner in front of Hotel Marienlyst near Elsinore. And the plaster figure itself was placed in Kronborg, but replaced with a concrete copy in 1985 because the plaster was in danger of crumbling due to moisture. The location of the plaster figure in Kronborg is perhaps due to author and columnist Christiern Pedersen's close connection to Elsinore?

In 2013, the director of Hotel Marienlyst decided to sell the sculpture on Lauritz.com. The municipality of Helsingør, which wanted to keep the bronze sculpture within the municipality's borders, was involved with up to three million. DKK but was offered by real estate agent Jørgen Axelsen, Skjern for an amount of 3.2 million kronor plus fees.

On May 2nd, 2013, the bronze statue was given a temporary place at Banegårdspladsen in Skjern - specially transported by the transport company Carsten V. Olesen, Skjern. But after a short visit to Nyborg, on November 10, 2014, Holger Danske got its current location at Mølletorvet, which was renamed Holgers Danske's Plads in the same context.
