On this very detailed and lovingly crafted field cross (or field cross) with the body of the crucified Christ – it is therefore a crucifix – the attentive observer will also discover a sign imploring Jesus for mercy. It is not clear whether this request was intended by the founders of the small shrine for themselves or perhaps for a deceased relative. This attractive, small, sacred monument is located between a path and a fenced-in pasture; a small, unframed flowerbed further distinguishes it from its surroundings. The dark cross, presumably wrought iron – the ends of the crossbeams and longitudinal beams are specially designed and set off in white – contrasts with the very pale body of Christ.
