Christiansborg is the seat of the Danish Parliament, the Danish Supreme Court and a residence of the Prime Minister. In addition, Christiansborg still houses royal reception rooms. This makes Christiansborg the only building in the world that simultaneously houses the legislative, executive and judiciary.

Originally the Kings castle, but when democracy was introduced, the Danish Parliament started using it. The castle is quite large and there's a lot of exhibitions (including ruins dating back to the start of Copenhagen) and a restaurant in the tower

Christiansborg Palace is one of the most famous sights in Copenhagen. The imposing building is located in the south of the Danish capital on the castle island of Slotsholmen.
The almost 100 meter high castle tower can be seen from afar and towers high over the roofs of the metropolis. Christiansborg Palace was once the seat of the Danish royal family. Today, not only Parliament meets in this magnificent building, but also the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The royal family still uses some of the premises for representative purposes.

Christiansborg Castle had its own theater, the Court Theater. In 1881 it was closed because it could no longer comply with the new fire protection regulations. The inventory was sold and the room was used as a furniture store. In 1922 the theater museum moved into the former court theater. It documents Danish theater history and shows scenes, models, costumes, etc. Smaller cultural events still take place there today.

There has been more than one Christiansborg at this point. The others burned down in between and a new castle was built in the same place. Therefore, ruins of the predecessor still lie under today's Christiansborg.

This festival kitchen was in operation until 2000 and produced the food for the large receptions in the royal reception rooms. Today there are still heating cabinets, the food is delivered, but is still served here. A sea of copper pots. The now deceased Prince Consort Prince Henrik loved the copper stuff - the cooks not so much ... An impressive place.

In Berlin they boast that citizens can climb politicians onto the roof. You can do that in Denmark for a long time. The trip to the castle tower is free. And if you want to go to the not-so-cheap castle restaurant, you can do that too. Parliamentarians are present.

The palace is so large that there is space for several constitutional institutions and the queen also uses rooms for representative purposes. But of course it's not pretty compared to the rest of the palaces, castles and villas in the city.

Christiansborg Palace [kʀesdjansˈbɔːʔʀ] (Danish: Christiansborg Slot) is located on the island of Slotsholmen in the center of the Danish capital, Copenhagen. It houses the heads of the three branches of government of the Kingdom of Denmark and is the only representative building in the world that unites the highest representatives of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches under one roof. In addition to the chambers of the Folketing (parliament), the palace also houses the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister's office, and reception rooms of the Danish Royal Family.

The current building was constructed between 1906 and 1937 in the Neo-Baroque style. The palace is roughly divided into two halves. The southern half is used by the Danish Parliament, while the northern half is reserved for the Royal Family, the Supreme Court, and the Prime Minister's Chancellery.
