For centuries the people of Zörbig drew water from wells. Wooden pumps, later replaced by iron ones, brought the coveted water to light. But the demand for water continued to increase, so that the construction of a water pipe was discussed as early as 1900. The project was realized in 1929. To the south of the city, the hexagonal clinker water tower grew up and right next to it, connected by a Gothic arch, are the machine and pump houses. The elevated tank under the tower roof holds 200 m³ of water, which is pumped up there from two wells.
