The crossroads is badly weathered. The year of installation is unknown. According to the monument file, it is a crossroads from the 19th or 20th century. Around 1950 it was still read on the sandstone plinth that it was good "to pray for the dead so that they may be redeemed from sins".

Under the number B 013 in the list of monuments, Az: 514-41-14.2 in the Reusrath district, corridor 16, parcel 65, the Dückeburg wayside cross on the Alte Schulstraße is listed. Despite severe weathering, around 1950 it was still possible to read on the base of the cross that it was good "to pray for the dead, so that they may be redeemed from their sins". The year the old wayside cross was erected is no longer known.[1]
