Stöckenbergsee is a former gravel pit and is located in the Hitdorf district in the west of Leverkusen. In the southeast area there is a large sandy beach, otherwise the water is surrounded by trees. Narrow, forested dams separate the lake from the neighboring gravel pits Hitdorfer See and Waldsee.
The Stöckenbergsee is managed by the sport fishing club Bayer Leverkusen. Fishing is reserved for club members. The fishing season is all year round. Night fishing is permitted. The protected areas and the area of the Rheindorf fishing club may not be fished!

In Hitdorf there is the Stöckenbergsee as a drinking water reserve and next door the Hitdorfer See - also called the "Blue Danube" for swimming. Unfortunately the meadow is taken over by Canada geese and covered in... In addition, a lot of lamb is grilled on nice days and the smell is terrible! Almost everything is forbidden there 🚫. The small flotsam and jetsam would be able to keep its revenue if action was taken against the grill nuisances.
