You can see a mighty Douglas fir in the photo.
Nearby was the Seehöfle farm, also known as the Fischhaus.
The farm had 3 larger fish ponds (to the left of the Douglas fir).
To the left of the county road to Spielbach was a large pasture called Fohlengarten.
The homestead was abandoned around 1895.
I assume that the authorities did not want the Seehöfle.
The forest in which the farm was located still belongs to the city of Rothenburg and is located in Württemberg.
People wanted villages, hamlets, farms, etc. to belong to the land in which they were located.
Legally it would have been difficult in the Rothenburg Forest, a farm would mean the citizens belong to Bavaria and the farm is in the state of Württemberg.
The map shows that the course of the county road was changed after 1833. In this map you can still see the buildings of the Seehöfle.
In the map from 1852 you can still see the course of the road from Schöngras past Seehöfle to Hummertsweiler.
The map from 1944 shows the changed course of the road and the new road from Spielbach to Leuzendorf.
