The Falkenstein Cave is a small, exciting detour carved into the rock face, resembling a hidden window into nature. Inside, it's usually noticeably cooler, and the view out over the forest and slopes has an adventurous feel. Perfect for a quick stop – a quick look inside, a breath of fresh air, and then back onto the trail.

10/22/2020 - You can't miss the prominent staircase with its winding ascent to the entrance. At the top we were alone in the Falkenstein Cave today, except for a bat doing its laps. The cave itself is beautiful and open all year round, don't forget your torch.

After the Falkenstein cave, the entrance of which branches off from the actual path, you walk along a mighty wall that turns out to be a sport climbing Eldorado [Addition as of 1.3.2019: according to the landowners, climbing in the Falkenstein walls is prohibited]. You soon reach the Gaiskirchel comfortably, ascending in the forest.
