      The Parish Church of the Holy Family is in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Panhans. It was built in 1894/95 in the neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic style under the protectorate of the Prince of Liechtenstein on Hochstrasse, but until around 1905 it only had a temporary wooden roof due to a lack of money. In 1907/08 the main facade was completed and the side aisle was added. It was formerly a branch church of Maria Schutz until it was elevated to a parish church in 1934. Today it is an architectural gem in Semmering on the way to the Südbahnhotel.

          By 1890, the Semmering population had grown so much that the construction of a separate church was considered. In January 1894, at the instigation of Melanie Countess Zichy-Metternich, the daughter of Prince Clemens von Metternich, a church construction association was founded. Prince Johann II of Liechtenstein, who assumed patronage over the association, donated the building site. On September 8, 1894, the foundation stone was laid by Cardinal Anton Josef Gruscha. The church was built between 1894 and 1896 by Gustav Neumann, the court architect of Prince Liechtenstein. It was expanded in 1907/08, and the façade was completed. Neumann built a priest's residence next door in 1896/97. In 1933, the branch church was elevated to a Roman Catholic parish.

            The Parish Church of the Holy Family in Semmering is an important example of neo-Gothic architecture in Lower Austria and a cultural landmark of the Semmering Pass. Located on the Hochstraße road in Semmering, near the Hotel Panhans, it was built between 1894 and 1896 according to the plans of the Viennese architect Gustav Neumann. The foundation stone was laid on September 8, 1894, by Cardinal Anton Josef Gruscha, and the church was consecrated on September 8, 1895.

            The freestanding bell tower was built in 1968 and is a technical monument. It was erected as part of a research project to investigate mechanical vibrations during bell ringing.

            Services in the parish church are held at the following times:

            Tuesdays and Fridays at 4:00 p.m.

            Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. (Eve Mass)

            Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in the Pius Hall

            The church is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and welcomes both worshippers and visitors.

            The Parish Church of the Holy Family is an important cultural and religious center in Semmering and a striking example of late 19th-century sacred architecture.
