A fantastic descent over the Lehmann Gorge through opposite high, steep, narrow rock faces. When you get in, you look to the right at Lilienfels, then you go down steep narrow steel stairs. fantastic.

Despite its proximity to the tourist towns of Wehlen and Rathen, the Rauenstein was developed for tourism relatively late due to its heavily rugged structure. On the initiative of the Dresden section of the Mountain Association for Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland, the 1,745-meter-long Rauensteingratweg was built in 1885 over the ridge of the rock massif running from west to east. Three large gorges had to be bridged or overcome by staircases. The largest gorge was the Lehmann Gorge, named after Oskar Lehmann, the initiator of the development. In the lower part of the gorge, blasting was even necessary to create the path. The total cost of building the path was 603 marks.
